Bath Design Overview

This project was a great one for me. I had been dreaming of creating this shower for so long, and just needed the right client for it. Well my latest client Sandy, shared my vision. She came to me wanting a modern bath in her newly purchased Northbrook home. She was really wanting to go Gray, and I was happy to oblige.
Say hello to my verison of a modern gray bathroom.
Here you can see the initial concept. The design revolves around the stark contrast of the white counter against the darker gray cabinets and tile.
This was our initial counter selection. We later changed to a brighter white quartz. I am glad we did, as they have the big contrast I was looking for.
We went with a porcelain floor tile that had a natural feel to it. In the pic you can see how nicely the tile contrasts against the modern Gray cabinetry.
The shower really is the highlight of the space for me. The variation in the handmade tile adds character and style, even know the shower is a modest size.
A closer look at the wall sconces. I liked these because they were modern but still had a classy feel to them. We had a square theme going with our hardware and these tied in perfectly.
Surprisingly, this shower was designed with maintenance in mind. The shower base is constructed of a waterproof shower system, and the grout is stain resistant and never needs to be sealed.
I kept the vanity area simple as we had a some pretty strong tile selections. The Quartz counters look sharp and are maintenance free. We added a cool factor with the oversized cabinet hardware. I also matched this shaping at the shower door handle for some continuity.

The shower floor tile is a cool hexagon shape in a matte finish. Because this tile was custom made, getting a matte finish was easy.
The vanity faucet carries the same square theme through the bath. These chrome adds to that classic feel which I needed at the shower.
The technology in the tile world today makes it hard to differentiate between this easy maintenance porcelain and genuine natural stone.
