“Kid Friendly”
A Kitchen Design in Palatine, Illinois

Kitchen Design Overview

Rachel Smith
Kitchen & Bath Designer

This kitchen was designed for a growing Palatine family. Our client was seeking a child friendly kitchen with style.

The use of the dark gray base cabinets was the perfect mix of style and low maintenance. The bright White Silestone counters follow the same principal, attractive and easy to care for.

We focused on the details to enhance our clean design. The lighting, island stools, and table set all come together to form a great kitchen design.

The texture of the back splash tile is subtle and unexpected.

Although small, the island packs style. The smokey pendants add simple elegance.

The White quartz counters really brighten the space and are easy to care for.

The modern stools help bring a chic industrial feel to the new kitchen.

The drum light ties it all together over the smokey gray table.

We designed the fridge area to have extra deep storage.

We opted for a transitional door style for the cabinetry. Simple and understated.

Kitchen Design Details

Roll trays are a staple in all of our kitchen designs. They offer a functional storage solution.

A simple change in the direction of the tile can create a subtle impact as seen at the modern backsplash above.

The beverage center looks good and is functional as it helps keep the kiddos satisfied.
